Our Story

As a new mum living in Kenya, I spent years searching for hair care products that were not only gentle and safe for children, but also as clean, natural, and nourishing as possible. Time and time again — as many parents might relate to — a well-meaning shop attendant, a friend, or a YouTube review would direct me to the imported products section.

And while some of them worked, dealing with fluctuating exchange rates, irregular supply, and uncertainty about ingredients left me wondering:

Are there any locally made products that meet both our children’s hair needs and our
high standards for health, safety, and ingredient quality?
And if they are available – are they consistently available – in other words – are they available on the market long enough to make an impact on my child’s hair routine?

For me, the answer at the time was no. But that simple question sparked a beautiful journey —

And, Little Roots was born.

Little Roots is a proudly Kenyan brand, created out of a love and a desire to offer parents safe, effective, and thoughtfully made hair care for their little ones. We have worked alongside world-class formulators to develop products that are specially made for children, with carefully selected ingredients that nurture and protect.
